Say Goodbye to 2020 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The end of 2020 is around the corner and many of us are ready to celebrate the New Year more than ever before. However, parties and gatherings may look a little different this year for a few reasons—namely masking and social distancing requirements and a statewide ban on alcohol sales after 11 p.m. due to Covid-19. But Myrtle Beach area businesses have still managed to come up with some fun and creative events for those wanting to celebrate the arrival of 2021. Here are some of our favorites:

New Year’s Eve at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

Thursday, December 31, 2020

8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Say goodbye to 2020 at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Plyler Park. The evening’s celebration will include live music and dueling DJs, kids activities, beer and wine by Hurricane’s Bar and Grill, hors d’oervres by Premier Catering, and a fireworks show at midnight. Social distancing is required, masks should be worn when close to others, and hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the event. The event is free to attend, with food and beverages for purchase.

A Southern Times Square at The Market Common

Thursday, December 31, 2020

9 p.m.

The Market Common’s limited-entry New Year’s Eve party will be one for the books! For years, they’ve hosted their own version of New York City’s New Year’s Eve celebration complete with live telecast, mirror ball drop and fireworks. This year is no exception, aside from the fact that tickets will be required and masks must be worn when attendees aren’t able to social distance. There are two ways to get tickets: 1) Present a receipt totaling $25 or more from any restaurant or retailer located at The Market Common dated on or after December 21 at The Market Common Management office during business hours until December 30 or 2) Visit the ticket tent inside Peace, Love & Little Donuts on December 31. Live music will be provided by Painted Man and food and beverages will be for sale on-site. Restaurants throughout The Market Common will also be open for dinner.
