First impressions

Pullman Bunker Bay Resort is located in the South West of Western Australia, framed by the clear waters of the awe-inspiring Bunker Bay in the renowned wine-producing region of Margaret River. Sitting on 35 acres of lush landscaped gardens, it boasts of exclusive beachfront guest access.

Pullman Bunker Bay Resort, Lobby

This luxe resort offers a compendium of 150 spacious, bungalow-style villas with your preferred choice of studio, one, two and three-bedroom configurations. Stye and decor of the resort is modern with clean lines, and unmatched in professionalism of service and attention to detail.

The Villa

Stepping into my villa, I was greeted with Jarrah timbre floor, twin beds, clean and well-equipped kitchenette, sparkling clean bathroom and of course, strong and reliable wireless internet! Our villa had separate living and dining areas and featured high ceilings for an extra sense of volume, which added to its and grandeur.

The Food

The in-house restaurant, Other Side of the Moon, is named after one of the famous surf breaks just a stone’s throw away. Here, you’ll have the choice of beautiful alfresco or indoor dining, both with a panoramic view out across the Indian Ocean, which easily trumped the the usual western buffet breakfast fare which includes scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms and coffee.

In and Around

If you’re here in the colder months, you’ll be delighted to be able to take a dip in the heated infinity-edge outdoor swimming pool. If you prefer to stay dry, you may head to the gymnasium or have a go at a game of tennis. I took a stroll through the resort to the Bunker Bay beach that rests just beyond the resort. And what greeted me will remain with me forever – 3 dolphins frolicking in the shallow waters! Although they were only there for a few minutes, this memory shall be etched in my memory for a long time.

Clear skies at the beach

If you are looking to just lounge around, The Pullman Vie Spa on the grounds of the resort is your go-to treat. The award-winning day spa has six well-appointed treatment suites and two couple’s suites with adjoining exclusive courtyards. You’re sure to receive a good pampering here.

There are no lack of activities to keep you entertained in this area – many award-winning Australian wineries are located within a few minutes’ drive, and iconic attractions including Busselton Jetty (and underwater museum!) and Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse are a must to visit. If you’re into nature and animals, whale-watching tours depart from the area frequently – you can book this with the Concierge.
