If you’re looking for a retreat that makes you feel miles away from regular hustle and bustle of life, you’ll find it at the Hilltop Studios in Margaret River.
Nestled in the lush, temperate bushland of the region, you’ll be treated to grand sight of rolling hills and meadows and grazing herds of cows, yet, it is a mere 10 minute drive to the Margaret River town.
The Rooms: Self-contained, open studios
There are four self-contained studios to choose from – the Deluxe Studios, and the Panorama studios. We were thrilled to stay in the Panorama studios.
The first entry to our studio leads us to a wooden outdoor deck with a BBQ pit, this is where we spent many mornings with a cup of hot coffee, and late nights star-gazing. Heading in to the studios, we found a truly self-contained and lovely space.
As we were planning to cook for the few nights we were there, we were especially pleased to find a fully-equipped and clean kitchenette with a 4 burner stove, microwave oven, and full sets of cooking utensils and tableware – made us feel like we were home!
The bathrooms were spotless, and the luxurious spa bath had bi-fold wooden doors that open out to the main living area, and beyond, to the view outside.
If you’re ever bored of kangaroo-spotting, you can choose from a long list of activities to do in the region. We visited the Margaret River Visitor Centre and received fantastic recommendations – we went winery hopping, visited the Mammoth Cave (a first for us!), leisurely whiled away time at the Margaret River Farmers Market and had an outdoor picnic at a nearby park while people watching. You mustn’t miss the Boranup Karri Forest, a blanket of towering karri trees, undulating across the valley – what a grand sight!
Hilltop Studios in Margaret River is wonderfully tranquil and totally private. We loved the view overlooking the open fields, trees, birds & kangaroos. If you’re looking to be transported to a different dimension from city life, you’ve found your pocket of peace. And while you feel miles from anywhere, it’s a few minutes to the heart of Margaret River where you can get reconnected with the city, if you so choose. You’ll also find numerous wineries, art studios and artisanal food establishments and grocers along the Margaret River belt so you’ll never be in lack of things to do.
