Journey through Japan’s leading hospitality group, Ariston Hotels of Japan – the Ariston Hotel Kobe and the Ariston Hotel Kyoto Jujo.
ARISTON HOTEL, KOBE
The First Impression
It’s easy to navigate to the Ariston Hotel from the airport -Minatojima Station is quick 10 minute ride from Kobe Airport Port Liner and from there, it’s another 5 minutes to the hotel on foot. the hotel is located within close proximity to the Kobe international Convention Centre, making it very convenient for business travellers.
The check-in time is 15:00 PM and the checkout hours is 10:00 AM. As female travellers, we were offered a basket of ladies’ amenities from which we could take our pick. Double thumbs up for Japanese hospitality!
As a modern traveller, you’d love to know that the hotel is equipped with strong, reliable and free unlimited Wi-Fi for staying guests.
The Room – Deluxe Twin room
The Deluxe Twin room are 42 square metre in size, and is one of the larger-sized rooms in the hotel. Considering the typical Japanese hotel space constraints, this is a generous size and a pleasant surprise! This room configuration comprises a bedroom and a separate living spaces, as well as separate rooms for bath and toilet.
The room decor is minimal at best, yet calm and enjoyable, and the room facilities are sufficient – including clean bathrooms, satellite TV, and the basic amenities including an electric kettle, tea bags, face towels, the bath towels and amenities, and bedroom slippers.
For breakfast, the hotel serves up a buffet of healthy choices, cooked lovingly from fresh, local produce from the Hyogo Prefecture. The breakfast restaurant is located on Level 1 of the complex, mildly decorated with earthy hues which provides a quiet and relaxing start to your morning.
The distinct Kobe flavours and extensive menu features special rice and eggs to the standard fare of continental and Western dishes.
I was particularly taken by the hotel’s commitment to creating a traveller experience like no other. Although the hotel is considered a basic accommodation without the frills, their service is seriously top-notch. If you’re ever in Kobe next, check in at Ariston Hotel Kobe for a restful stay.

ARISTON HOTEL, KYOTO JUJO
The First Impression
The hotel is located near the subway station Jujo, just 2 stations away from the Kyoto city centre. The hotel is fairly new and it shows – the entranceway and lobby is sparkling clean with minimalistic decoration and muted tones. A unique space – Tatami room – takes centrestage in the lobby area. This is an eye-catching and traditional event space and of course, would make a fantastic backdrop for Instagrammable photos.
The Room – Universal twin room
The Universal Room is set apart with its clever design of spaces – a large space that is demarcated into a study, sitting area and the bedroom. The room is spotless, comfortable and lush. Thoughtfully, the spacious bathroom allows for barrier-free access which is integral to people who are using mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers.
Breakfast is served at the lobby bar located on Level 1, just next to the Tatami Room. Look forward to a diverse menu made from local, fresh ingredients – including Kyoto specialty, the mackerel sushi, the chef’s original rolled omelet sandwich, and a variety of special Kyoto-style marinated vegetable side dishes, also called obansai, which are lovingly crafted from seasonal ingredients.
The Ariston Hotel Kyoto Jujo is an excellent choice for travellers visiting Kyoto. The staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate our questions and dietary restrictions, and are extremely helpful.
